RSS Feeds and Readers

What is RSS?

The term "RSS" (Really Simple Syndication) is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works such as sermons, blog entries, and news headlines.

An RSS document is called a "feed", "web feed",or "channel" and includes full or summarized text, as well as publishing dates. Web feeds benefit publishers (us) by letting them syndicate content automatically. They benefit readers who want to subscribe to timely sermon updates from Woodland Hills Church (you). RSS feeds can be read using software called an "RSS reader", "feed reader", or "aggregator", which can be web-based (see our ADD THIS below) or computer-based.

You subscribe to our feed by entering our feed's URL into your reader or by clicking an RSS icon in a browser that initiates the subscription process. The RSS reader checks your subscribed feeds regularly for new sermons or any updates that it finds, and sends you links to all the new sermons.

So why would I want an RSS Reader anyway?

You might like to share a sermon with someone who couldn't attend a particular service or listen to a sermon on your cellphone or laptop while out of town. A subscriber to our sermons RSS feed will be able to listen to any of The Woodland Hills Church sermons at any time from anywhere in the world!

Most modern Web browsers and Email programs have built-in RSS readers and many free web-based RSS readers are available on the internet. Simply add our Sermons RSS Feed URL to your RSS Reader:
